Put the camera on 'auto'. The camera will make the best pictures it can.
Make sure there is lots of light.  Look at the camera screen to check the picture looks bright on the camera screen before you press the button.
Try to take photos outside during the day. It is best if the weather is good. On very cloudy or rainy days your pictures will now be so good.
If you are outside make sure the sun is behind you. You do not want the sun to be in your pictures.
If you are taking pictures of small things it is a good idea to put something behind them. A coloured cloth or piece of paper is a good idea. Make sure they are a different colour. This way your things will stand out and be easy to see in your picture.
Press the button slowly. Try to keep the camera still.
To take pictures of things that are far away you need to use a zoom.  This makes things look much bigger and closer to you. You need to keep the camera very still.  Try and lean the camera on something. Use a tripod if you have one.
