rootsWelcome to the Big Tree roots

Welcome to the Big Tree roots where we share the work we do at the Rix Centre that is designed to get the best from Information and Communication Technologies for the learning disability community.

The roots feature our research and development activity at the Rix Centre. This work is built around our multimedia production lab. At the Rix Centre we showcase the array of work we have made with some critical commentary. Making websites for and with people with learning disabilities has helped us to find out lots about web accessibility and approaches that might suite people with learning disabilities and understand the issues for this audience. Alongside our web development work the Rix Centre has been researching and developing ways in which ICT can help people with learning disabilities in their places of education - e-learning.

This part of the Big Tree is designed for professionals and practitioners working with the learning disability community and using ICT - web developers, teachers, carers and family members.
