Title: Putting people @ the Centre of Communication Technologies ( PACCIT) In this talk I'll outline the aims of the PACCIT research programme: to support research and development of IT systems and products which are designed to suit the needs and abilities of users and which are appropriate for their context of use.   The way that the Project @pple exemplified much of what we wanted to achieve in PACCIT will be discussed, including the way the team tackled inclusive and accessible design, and the collaboration between university, industry and voluntary sector partners. The implications of @pple and PACCIT research more broadly will be discussed.
