Karen Bunning
Karen Bunning is a qualified speech & language therapist with many years practical experience with children and adults with learning difficulties. Currently she works as course director for a brand new degree in speech and language therapy at University of East Anglia. Her main research interests are concentrated around exploring communicative potential amongst individuals with severe to profound and multiple learning difficulties. Recent funded research has looked at communication needs amongst individuals with a forensic history, the communication process in primary care and the effects of total communication strategies on service users and providers within adult learning difficulty services. Karen works with her colleagues at the Rix Centre investigating the role of ICT and rich and multiple media in the process of communication and advocacy.
