Production : Introduction

making a video

We have developed a range of Websites since the start of the Multimedia and Learning Disability Research Programme in 2001 and subsequently at the Rix centre since this was established in 2004.

These have largely applied rich media in various ways to explore its potential to make content accessible and interesting to people with a learning disability.

All the work was produced as part of a commissioned production service by the Rix Centre and its predecessor programme for organisations working with people with learning disabilities. We used these working partnerships to develop and trial different approaches to multimedia production and build our team's knowledge and understanding of the issues. In this part of the Big Tree Roots we share this work with an outline of what we intended to achieve and reflection of what was learned from the process. We welcome feedback, so please let us know what you think of our production work and tell us about other work you know of that is tackling these issues!
